New Hampshire's therapeutic cannabis program was established by House Bill 573 in 2013 and became operational in 2016. The program is regulated by the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services. New Hampshire Possession Limits
New Hampshire sets clear limits on how much medical cannabis patients can possess and purchase.
- New Hampshire medical cannabis card can be valid for up to three years, depending on the duration of the provider's certification.
- Patients may possess up to 2 ounces total at any time.
- Patients may purchase up to 2 ounces every 10 days from any dispensary location.
- Cannabis must stay in original packaging when outside your home.
- Cannabis must be in locked container or trunk when transporting in vehicle.
- Minors need certifications from two doctors (one must be a pediatrician) and a parent/guardian caregiver.
- Out-of-state patients with NH-qualifying conditions can purchase the same amount of cannabis as In-state residents.
